The NUS Criminal Justice Club is a student-driven interest group formed in September 2009 to raise awareness about criminal justice issues. Since its inception, the Club has initiated two key projects – the Innocence Project and the Court Martial Project. The former aims to promote just outcomes by examining possible cases of wrongful convictions while the latter aims to provide military servicemen under court martial with legal representation.
In addition, the Club provides assistance to several pro-bono clinics including HELP Centre Legal clinic and Remand clinic, in collaboration with the Subordinate Courts of Singapore. Periodically, the Club organizes talks and dialogues for the student population and legal practitioners alike.
